During Obama's tenure in the Illinois State Senate he supported every measure to ban guns in the state along with the help of Mayor Daley. Their goal was to rid guns completely, not only handguns, but hunting guns as well.
While on the Joyce Foundation board, Obama funneled tens of millions of dollars to radical gun control organizations such as the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence and the Violence Policy Center.
In 2003, Obama voted in support of legislation (ISB1195) that "Would have banned most of the privately held hunting shotguns, target rifles and black powder rifles" in Illinois.
Obama also voted 4, that's FOUR, times against citizens owning handguns to protect themselves and their families from invasion in their own homes.
Obama voted for legislation that would ban and forcibly confiscate nearly every shotgun, target rifle and hunting rifle in the state. Obama also voted for bills that would ration the number of firearms a law-abiding citizen could own, yet give a pass to the violent thugs who roam our streets.
Obama also came out against conceal carry laws in 2004.
According to Obama, "Concealed-carry laws would only increase the problem of handgun violence and ultimately make the streets less safe everywhere. ... It was a bad idea, and I'm glad it failed. ..."
Obama in 2004, 2002 and 1998 received "F" ratings from the National Rifle Association.
